In reality there are many factors that go into deciding what brake to use for your application. At Demo-Xearch-XYZ we feel very strongly that answering these questions up front will leave to better outcome when the caster goes into service. Some of the questions that we would want to know are: Do you want the brake to be hand operated or foot operated? Is access to the brake important? Where should the brake be located on the caster for simple application? How often will the brake be used? Is there heat involved in the application that might impact the function of the brake? What bearing do I want in the wheel (certain brakes work better with certain bearing configuration)? If you are looking for a hand operated brake the only option is a Face Contact Brake . It is activated by tightening the brake shoe against the wheel by twisting it clockwise. There are many styles of foot operated brakes. Cam , Single Side , Dual Side , Poly Lock and Wrap Around .
